Honors Outreach to Present and Prospective Students (HOPPS)

The WWU Honors Outreach to Present and Prospective Students (HOPPS) Ambassador Program is a volunteer opportunity for current Honors students to engage with the greater Honors community. If you are interested in joining the HOPPS team to share more about your Honors experiences, connect with visiting prospective students and families, and participate in community building with current students, please fill out the HOPPS Interest Form.

Honors Info Sessions

A typical visit for a prospective student includes:

  • a 30-minute info session with an Honors representative
  • a student ambassador hosted lunch at one of the on-campus dining halls (this is YOU!)
  • a tour of the Honors College residential community in Edens/Edens North Halls
  • an optional 50-minute Honors class visit if available

Prospective Student Lunches

When you participate in a prospective student visit, Honors will guest you into the dining hall if you don't have a meal plan. Here, you can share your college experience with prospective students. We request that you show up to the Honors Center between 12:15-12:20 pm (unless otherwise directed) and we will depart for the Viking Commons dining hall around 12:30 pm when the info session portion is done.

The Board and The Cabinet

We hope to use these spaces (found in the Honors Center - OM 330) for collective and collaborative opportunities - art supplies, games, and anything else to help build the Honors Center into even more of a community space!

Our philosophy for these spaces is based on the concept of "take something, leave something" to ensure this is a sustainable resource.
