Honors College Scholarships
The Honors College offers several undergraduate scholarships for currently enrolled Honors students each academic year. Students apply for these scholarships through the WWU Scholarship Portal. Students only need to complete one scholarship application and they will be automatically matched to the scholarships they qualify for.
Visit the Scholarship Center Page for more information.
Quarterly Scholarships
WWU Honors College students may apply for a $1,000 service scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year. These funds have been made available by a generous donor to the Honors College specifically for Honors College students to provide community service to the elder community in Whatcom County and to cultivate intergenerational conversation. Recipients of this scholarship will commit to approximately 5 hours/ week at the Bellingham Senior Activity Center during their awarded quarter.
Aligning student interests and strengths, in coordination with the Bellingham Senior Center Volunteer Coordinator, students commit to a schedule of volunteer time with a reflection project at the end of the quarter. After completing the requirements, the scholarship will be awarded and applied to the following quarter's tuition.
The form requires an attached, 300 word maximum, response to the prompt “Describe how your personal strengths and interests align with the mission of the Honors College Service Scholarship.”
Priority will be given based on submission date and completion of the application, with consideration of the donor's intent and required time commitment.
Please email Kate Stevenson, Honors Program Manager, with any questions.
