2022 Honors Prologue Agenda
Friday, September 16
3:00-6:00 PM - Honors Open House
Honors Center - Old Main 330
Meet Honors faculty, staff, and fellow students at an open-house reception in the Honors Center. See where Honors classes are held and browse the Honors Lending Library. Light refreshments will be provided.
Saturday, September 17
There are two different agendas depending on what breakout sessions you are a part of. Bus pick up and drop off from campus to Larrabee will be located outside of the Performing Arts Center (PAC).
Students participating in two breakout sessions will be in bus group 1. This includes: Tidepools, Beach Geology, Linguistics and the afternoon Mini Hike.
Students participating in a single breakout session will be in bus group 2. This includes: Hike to Fragrance Lake, Art, and the Writers Workshop.
What to Bring:
- Water bottle
- Snacks if you want them
- Weather-appropriate attire (you never know when it will rain in WA!)
- Good walking shoes
- Cellphone
Bus 1 - CHECK IN AT 9:30 AM

Students are encouraged to get a quick bite in before getting on the bus.

Students will pick up their bag lunch and take it to-go on their excursion.
1:45-2:45 PM - Meet Honors Mentors

Join the Honors Mentors for an introduction to the program and why you should get involved. Mentors will lead mini sessions. This is also additional time for folks in Bus Group 2 to explore parts of Larrabee that they couldn't do during their breakout session.

5:30-6:30 - Dinner
Viking Commons Dining Hall
Dinner opens at the Viking Commons Dining Hall. Students are encouraged to grab dinner before rejoining the cohort for a movie night at 6:30 PM.
6:30-8:30 PM - Sci-Fi Films with Dr. Regina G. Barber
Miller Hall 138
Join Dr. Regina G. Barber for snacks and a discussion on Science Fiction movies.
Regina G. Barber teaches physics and astronomy at Western. Dr. Barber is also the host of the radio show & podcast Spark Science, a talk show which strives to make science accessible to all.
